I always used to leave a gazillion tabs open on my computer. This particular day, I was searching for an image to send my publisher as we were chatting about story inspiration via FB messenger.
I popped to my open images tab.
An email pinged up on my open Gmail tab from my PT asking me to submit my progress photos (front, back, and side).
Distracted, I opened another images tab and searched for the photos for that week.
I double clicked to check it was the right photo and...
Yes, I sent a picture of me in my bra and pants to my publisher as I'd left the FB messenger tab open!!!!!
I've never googled 'how to delete a photo in messenger' so fast in my life! Within minutes it was gone, but the image of my floppy bits were already imprinted on their retinas đ±
Was my publishing contract about to be pulled?
Could I ever write another book again?
Would my face ever stop burning?
I owned up to my mistake on my personal FB page where EVERYONE laughed! Eventually I saw the funny side too.
All was well in the end, and I still have my contract, but I only ever have ONE tab open at once now!
Itâs a common complaint. âIâve got too many tabs open and I donât know where to find anythingâ. How often do you open the same tab across three or four devices or windows? So easy to do. It might not seem like much of a problem but if you read Shelleyâs story, you might want to heed her warning. One tab at a time please!
Thankfully, the embarrassing moment didnât put Shelley or her publisher of creating amazing books. What makes it even more remarkable is that she helps others to write their books too! Check out Shelley Wilson Writing Mentor on a dedicated tab. You wonât regret it!
